Check Support Requests and Protect Account Details
Verify the Person Before the Request
A logo, account name or confident message does not authenticate support. Find the service’s established contact route in the verified app or provider website, then open it yourself. Treat unsolicited recovery messages and replies to public complaints as unverified until the provider confirms the channel.
Keep Credentials Out of Conversations
Never share a password, one-time verification code or UPI PIN with a support contact. NPCI’s UPI guidance also says the PIN should remain private. Do not include credentials in screenshots or public comments. A request to keep an interaction secret, act immediately or allow another person to operate your phone is a reason to stop and reassess the contact.
Inspect Installation and Remote-Access Requests
Account help should not become an unexplained instruction to install a different package or screen-sharing utility. Confirm what the software is and why it would be needed before acting. Keep device protections enabled. Google explains the scope of its app checks in the Play Protect help page; those checks do not establish the trustworthiness of every app operator or support message.
Handle Transaction Questions Through the Right Service
Preserve the relevant reference and a concise account of what happened. Contact the identified operator or payment provider through a channel you verify independently. Do not transfer additional money because a stranger promises it will unlock a previous transaction. Keep full statements and private identifiers out of public discussions.
Pause When the Evidence Is Missing
A missing source, unclear condition or unusual permission request does not need to be resolved through immediate action. Take time to understand what is being asked. You can read this directory without registering or making a transaction, and a listed name is not a guarantee about an app or service.
The responsible-use page covers time and spending boundaries. Use the support-report guide to prepare a factual description when there is an issue to investigate.
